Classy Cavies

At a show in early 2009 I was Stewarding for the marked and ticked judge when a stunning pig was brought to the table, I was so taken with this pig's looks and nature that I set out to find a small group to work with. This pig was a Cream Agouti and after speaking to some of the wonderful Agouti breeders I was given a wonderful Cream sow by the lovely Simon Neesam from Martin Harrisons lines.

I then set out to find a boar and was given a gorgeous Cream Agouti Boar and a Dilute Cream Agouti sow by Madelaine Coomber and this little stud of Agoutis moved into Classy Cavies.

Much to my pleasure the dilute sow turned out to be pregnant and presented me with the most Handsome little Cinnamon Boar so my Agouti colours expanded to include the Cinnamon Agouti.

The Agoutis have a long history amongst the Cavy Fancy with their colours being multiple and their presence at show being reassuringly constant with a good success rate of Best In Show. As a breed they possess a very laid back nature and are of good solid size and substance. Long may the reign of the Agouti continue.

My Handsome Cream Agouti Boar as an Under 5 he won Best AOC at the London Championship Show 2009 and Best AOC and the Agouti Stock Show at Wiltshire.
